Shane Warne said he wasn’t surprised by England’s magnificent fightback but remained confident Australia will still win the first Ashes Test. “I thought England came out and played pretty well. They showed they’ve got a bit of fire and a bit of spirit but it’s just a matter of whether they can sustain it long enough.”

‘If we’re nothing else, we’re fighters’

Ashley Giles on the othrhand said that the Ashes series was notgoing to be the foregone conclusion.

“It shows character for a side to go back into the field having taken only two wickets in 90 overs and then bowl a side out. We’ve got a lot of character in this side. If we’re nothing else, we’re fighters.”
