President of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president S. Balakrishnan and working president E.V.K.S. Elangovan are in the Capital to emphasise to the party high command that they can co-exist in the state unit. Their visit was necessitated after feelers from a section of the AICC leadership that both of them could be dropped from their posts.
Sources in the Congress said that both have clarified to the party high command that they do not have problems working together. A senior party leader said they have also been told to ‘‘codify their responsibilities in the TNCC so that they don’t step on each other’s toes’’.
