Weather forecast till June 29

Rain and thundershowers expected at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar.

Following is the forecast valid until the morning of June 29th.

Rain/thundershowers expected at:

East: Many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar.

North: Many places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh; a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and isolated places in west Rajasthan.

Central: Many places in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, north Chattisgarh and south Chhattisgarh.

Peninsula: Many places in Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala; a few places in north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, interior Karnataka and isolated places in Gujarat state, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.

Islands: Many places in Andaman and Nicobar and a few places in Lakshadweep.

The cyclonic circulation extending upto 3.6 kms a.s.l. over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining north Orissa persists now tilting southwestwards with height.

The trough at sea level passes through Ferozepur, Aligarh, Fetepur, Daltonganj, Sagar Islands and thence southeastwards at east central Bay of Bengal.

The off-shore trough at sea level from Maharashtra coast to Kerala coast persists. A cyclonic circulation between 2.1 and 5.8 kms a.s.l. lies over east central Arabian Sea off south Gujarat- north Maharashtra coast.

The western disturbance as an upper air system over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir now lies over Jammu and Kashmir. A fresh western disturbance as an upper air system extending up to 3.6 kms a.s.l. lies over north Pakistan and neighbourhood.

A cyclonic circulation extending up to 0.9 km a.s.l. lies over Punjab and neighbourhood. The cyclonic circulation over west Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood now lies over east Uttar Pradesh and extends up to 2.1 kms a.s.l.

The above four systems are likely to move east-northeastwards. In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were below normal in some parts of west Rajasthan.

Total rainfall during the past 24 hours at 165 available stations in the plains, out of 291 stations, is 143 cms.

Normal for the above 165 stations is 146 cms.
