Weather Gods may relent for Bangalore Test

The local weather department in Bangalore has ruled out heavy rains during the third and final cricket Test.

The Weather Gods may not play spoilsport during the crucial third and final cricket Test match between India and Pakistan starting in Bangalore from Saturday, as the local weather department has ruled out heavy rains.

Allaying fears of soggy weather during the next five days, the Director of the Bangalore Meteorology Centre G S Vijayaraghavan said there won’t be heavy rains.

“If at all, there will be light rains, that too for a small duration,” he said.

Bangalore, located 3,000 feet above sea level, has been experiencing chilly weather in the last couple of days. It drizzled for a while in the city on Friday morning, raising the probability of the five-day match being disrupted by rains.

“Bad weather will clear by this afternoon or evening. By evening, it should be clear”, he said.

India leads 1-0 in the series.

The visitors, having fought back in the drawn Kolkata Test, are looking to square the series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which has been a happy hunting ground for them.
