The Rajasthan Police have asked for permission to question two Army doctors and two Subedar-Majors in connection with a recruitment racket that was busted in Ajmer.
Following the arrest of eight recruiting agents recently,the Ajmer police found that candidates paid Rs 1.15 lakh for selection during the medical and physical tests and that the doctors identified the candidates by the brand and colour of their undergarments.
Ajmer Assistant Superintendent of Police Rahul Prakash stated that the scam came to light following a complaint from a candidate who claimed he had paid money but was not selected as well as inputs from Military Intelligence. We tracked the mobile number of an agent and set a trap in Ajmer pretending to be a potential client, he said. He added that the agent was nabbed after he accepted the money.
