Aditya visits tribal Thane, vows to work for region

Thackeray visited remote areas like Jawahar,Wada,Vikramgad and Shahapur earlier this week to get first-hand experience of the issues plaguing the region.

Despite criticising Congress general secretary and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi for his trips to rural Maharashtra and elsewhere in the country,Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray’s grandson and Yuva Sena chief Aditya went on a visit of tribal parts of Thane district to learn about poverty, malnourishment and lack of connectivity.

Thackeray visited remote areas like Jawahar,Wada,Vikramgad and Shahapur earlier this week to get first-hand experience of the issues plaguing the region. After visiting Shirsonyacha pada in Mokhada taluka with a population of 630 and witnessing extreme malnutrition among children,Yuva Sena had decided to adopt the village and ensure that they get food and nutrition supplements.

“Actually,Vikramgad and Mokhada are all very close to Mumbai. I visited these places and realised that the situation is rather grim. Where is the government when it is most needed for people living in these remote parts. From now on,Yuva Sena will stand up for Thane district and people living in these parts,” said Aditya.

Thackeray also raised concern that many parts of the district are in darkness despite the huge power lines pass through the district to ensure there is 24-hour electricity in Mumbai.

He also said that while lakes in Thane district provide water to Mumbai, locals have to walk miles to fetch water. Yuva Sena will be writing to 24 MLAs and four MPs from Thane district irrespective of their party affiliations to work collectively for the development of the region.
