Adnan Sami,Kailash Kher to judge kids’ music contest on TV

Singer-composer Adnan Sami and Kailash Kher have been roped in to judge the upcoming season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs,a kids’ singing talent hunt. They will be joined by Bollywood singer Jaaved Ali,who has delivered chartbusters like Nagada nagada from Jab We Met and Jashn-e-bahara from Jodhaa Akbar. The three singers will be on the judges’ panel and act as mentors to the young participants. The new season will be a 13-week series that will go on air by the end of this month on Zee TV. Channel bosses want the contestants to sing original compositions composed by the mentors on the show,as opposed to singing popular numbers from Bollywood films. “I don’t know whether this can be executed,but we have thrown the idea at our mentors. This has never been attempted in any other singing show before,” said Ashish Golwalkar,head of non-fiction programming,Zee TV.
