Talking tough,Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday said the NDA and L K Advani had no right to cricitise Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over terror attacks, because the attack on Parliament took place when the NDA was in power and the same government had escorted terrorists safely to Kandhahar. Defending the Prime Minister, she said it was due to his Governments pressure that Pakistan was forced to admit that the terrorists who attacked Mumbai came from their country. Kis mooh se Advani Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ko weak bol sakte hain? she asked a massive crowd at Bhongir in Nalgonda district. The BJP is attacking the UPA Government and the PM over the Mumbai terror attack but you know that we kept up the pressure which ensured that Pakistan had to accept that the terrorists came from their country, she said. Lashing out at the BJP leader, she said that it was Advani as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister who proved to be weak when tackling terror. Sonia Gandhi addressed three election meetings in the state on Tuesdaytwo in Telangana region at Karimnagar and Bhongir and one in the coastal district of Vizianagaram. She singled out Advani in every meeting. Advani considers himself to be brave on the issue of terrorism, but as the home minister and deputy prime minister his government escorted terrorists to the safety of Kandhahar in Afghanistan. The same person is today accusing us of being soft. Who is he to say that? she asked. Defending Manmohan Singh, she said he was a strong leader and a man of integrity. You have a choice to make in front of you in this election. On one side you have a Prime Minister who is a man of integrity and on the other side a BJP leader who talks of fighting terror but you know what happened during his rule. He is making baseless allegations against our PM, she told the first public meeting in Bhongir in Nalgonda district. You have to decide for the next five years in which direction the country and Andhra Pradesh should go, she said, appealing to the people to vote for the Congress both in the state and the Centre for another term.
