Sajid Khan,who has two hits to his credit in Heyy Babyy and Housefull,will soon be directing the sequel of Housefull. Though he is still working on the script,Sajid confirms that Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh will be part of the sequel. The other actors are yet to be finalised.
In the meantime,he is scripting an action adventure with Shimit Amin of Chak De! India fame,Shiraz Ahmed,writer of Race and Sameer Sharma,who wrote Bhoot. They have already finished penning the first draft. The film is being produced by Vashu Bhagnani.
Raj Babbar to turn director
RAJ Babbar is making a film inspired by Trishul,and not a remake as reported by a certain section of the media. Directed by Yash Chopra,Trishul was one of the top grossers of 1978 and had Sanjeev Kumar playing the role of a construction baron. He had an illegitimate son,Amitabh Bachchan,who is out to avenge his father for abandoning his mother and Shashi Kapoor who plays his half-brother. Babbar will not only be producing and directing the film,but also acting in it. He will be seen as the patriarch. Babbars sons Aarya and Pratik will also be acting in the movie. While Arya will play the antagonist,Pratik will portray the protagonists role.
Amisha Patel signs film with Leander Paes
AmIsha Patel,who is currently in Mangalore shooting for a Telugu film with South star Balakrishnan,has been signed to play the female lead opposite ace tennis champion Leander Paes. The sportsman,is making his debut in Hindi films with Rajdhani Express,to be directed by debutant Ashok Kohli. The movie will go on the floors in November confirmed Amishas spokesperson.
Bhavna on Doha Film Fest jury
Director Bhavna Talwar of Dharm fame is part of the five-member jury of the Doha Tribeca Film Festival that will conclude on October 30. Internationally-acclaimed Egyptian actress Yosra,the President of the Jury,along with Academy Award-nominated actress Salma Hayek,English actor and director Nick Moran of Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels fame Bosnian screenwriter and director of Oscar winning No Mans Land,Tanovic comprise the rest of the jury. They will choose the winners of the festivals Arab Film Competition.
