Anna Hazare Saturday invited Army Chief Gen. V K Singh to join his team. To a question at a rally in Vidarbha,Hazare said,We will welcome Gen. V K Singh if he wants to (get) involve(d) in this national movement after retirement. His reply was tweeted by his aide Suresh Pathare.
This is the first time that Hazare has extended a direct invitation to Gen. Singh. His Team Anna colleagues Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi have earlier tweeted their support for the Army Chiefs struggle against the government.
A rally on May 6 in Delhi to back Gen. Singh was attended by aides of Baba Ramdev and members of the Team Anna thinktank. Ramdevs aide Jaideep Arya had declared at the rally that Hazare,Ramdev and Gen. Singh would together script a new history for the country.
