Shares of real estate firm Ansal Housing & Construction shot up as much as 8 per cent on bourses today after the company's board of directors approved buyback of shares. The stock closed ended at Rs 41.60,up 8.19 per cent from the last closing price. on the NSE On BSE,the scrip settled 5.68 per cent higher at Rs 40.95 after surging as much as 11 per cent during the day. In terms of volume,more than 8 lakh shares of the company got traded on the bourses during the day. In a regulatory filing issued to the stock exchanges,Ansal Housing said,"The board of directors of the company have approved buyback of its outstanding equity shares of Rs 10 each for an aggregate amount of up to Rs 11.25 crore at a price not exceeding Rs 45 per equity share." The surge in the stock was in tandem with the overall bullish broader market,with the benchmark Sensex closing with a gain of 363.38 points at 16,846.83.
