The mother of Baby P or Peter was jailed indefinitely for her role in the abuse and death of the toddler while her former boyfriend was given a life sentence.

The mother of Baby P or Peter was on Friday jailed indefinitely for her role in the abuse and death of the toddler while her former boyfriend was given a life sentence. The couple’s 37-year-old lodger Jason Owen was also jailed indefinitely on the same charge – that of causing or allowing the child’s death.

In a highly-anticipated sentencing at the Old Bailey in London, the little boy’s ‘stepfather’ was handed a life sentence for his role in the abuse as well as for raping a two-year-old girl.

Judge Stephen Kramer told Baby P’s mother she would be jailed indefinitely and serve at least five years for causing her son’s death. Owen was also given an indeterminate sentence and told he would serve at least three years.
