Bajaj Auto motorcycle sales up 5%

India's 2nd largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj reported a rise in sales to highest ever.

India’s second largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto today reported 5.33 per cent increase in motorcycle sales in February at 3,01,961 units,the highest ever in a month.

The company had sold 2,86,657 units in the corresponding month last year,Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) said in a statement.

BAL said exports grew 19.81 per cent during the month at 1,22,727 units compared to 1,02,433 units in February,2011.

In the three-wheeler category,company said its sales stood at 41,816 units as against 40,217 units in the same month last year,registering a jump of 3.97 per cent.

Total vehicle sales of the company in the last month stood at 3,43,777 units compared to 3,26,874 units in the same period a year ago,a growth of 5.17 per cent,the statement said.
