Subhrangshu Roy,arrested for assault,out on bail
Kolkata: Trinamool Congress candidate Subhranshu Roy,son of Union minister Mukul Roy,was granted interim bail by a court in West Bengals North 24-Parganas district. He had been arrested on charges of assaulting election officials. He was released from a days jail custody on a bond of Rs 50,000,warned not to repeat the offence and directed to appear in court on May 5.
CPM defacing filmstar posters: Oommen Chandy
Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader Oommen Chandy accused CPM workers of defacing posters of filmstars who campaigned for UDF candidates. Film posters of leading actors Dileep,Kavya Madhavan and Jayaram were found smeared with black oil in Pathanpuram constituency in Kollam district,where filmstar K B Ganesh Kumar is the UDF candidate. The CPM leadership should rein in its cadres, Chandy said.

Chennai: AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa has demanded that the Election Commission videograph the entire counting process on May 13. The entire counting process right from removal of the seal on each EVM till the counting of votes must be videographed in order to prevent any malpractice, Jayalalithaa said.
