Set in New York City,the film opens with Kyle,a vain narcissist and incredibly-popular student winning the students election and being appointed the student- body president. But,at the after-party,he bullies the eccentric Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen) for her ugliness and strangeness,and things take a twist in Kyles life. Upset by Kyles cruel behaviour,Kendra decides to teach him a lesson and transforms him into a hideous monster; someone who is as unattractive on the outside as on the inside. Kyles only resort to lift the curse is to find someone who can look past his hideous looks and love him,or else he will be left with this appearance forever. Kyle finds hope in an unassuming classmate Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens). Beastly,directed by Daniel Barnz,scores a number of firsts.
