Bengal Cong chief: End of Communism in India

Calling the fall of Communist in West Bengal as the fall of the great Roman Empire,West Bengal Pradesh Congress chief Manas Bhunia.

Calling the fall of Communist in West Bengal as the fall of the great Roman Empire,West Bengal Pradesh Congress chief Manas Bhunia said that Communism in India has reached its end point,like in other countries.

Bhunia,who won the Sabang Assembly segment in West Midnapore with a margin of 13,000 votes,said that after the unprecendented political development,the Left should behave like Communists on Indian soil not like agents of any other country.

On the issue of joining the government,he said senior leaders Pranab Mukherjee and Shakeel Ahmed will arrive in Kolkata by Saturday evening and will decide on this issue.

Bhunia thanked the Election Commission for conducting a free and fair elections in West Bengal.

Never have I seen such free and fair elections. I want to thank Chief Election Commisoner S Y Quraishi for that, he said.

Bhunia,whose party tally has reached 42,on more than CPMs,said that Congress could have increased the tally in few seats but could not do so because of Independents. The Congress contested on 65 seats in the assembly election.
