The State Human Rights Commission on Wednesday dismissed the Bhaderwah triple murder case due to insufficient evidence. The role of former DGP Kuldeep Khoda had come under the scanner in the case. The division bench of the Commission said: The case was also dismissed by the National Human Rights Commission and the High Court on similar grounds. On June 25,the Crime Branch had submitted a report related to the1996 Bhaderwah triple murder case and the prosecution requested the Commission to treat the report as privileged. The prosecution pleaded before the SHRC that the case should not be admitted. However,after hearing the arguments the SHRC reserved its judgment. On May 24,division bench of the Commission gave a weeks time to the state government to make the report available to it and to the complainant. Last year,the victims families approached the HC and the Commission seeking a re-investigation into the killings. In 1996,three persons were abducted and killed with their bodies thrown in the Chenab in Bhaderwah. A Crime Branch probe had indicted Khoda for the killings.
