Bihar BJP MLA booked for threatening officer

A case has been lodged by the Araria police against the BJP MLA from Sikti for threatening a Circle Officer for “not allotting land slips to his three relatives”.

Basgit parcha is given to landless families for possession of at least three decimal residential land to build a house or become eligible to get a house under the Indira Awas Yojana.

Sikti Circle Officer Surendra Kumar Pandey has alleged that MLA Anandi Prasad Yadav called on his mobile phone at 8:20 pm on February 17 and threatened him. “Yadav,who has been after me for sometime to illegally sanction three plots of five decimal each to family members of his relative at Masumda,threatened to kill me and asked me to leave Sikti at the earliest,” Pandey told The Indian Express. He got a case registered against Yadav on Saturday evening.

Araria SP Shivdeep Waman Lande said,“We will ensure that Pandey is safe.” Yadav’s mobile phone was switched off.
