A senior government official was arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping his minor daughter. The police said that the 14-year-old girl in her complaint alleged that she had been abused by her father,a Senior Deputy Collector,for the past three months.
A senior police officer said the Senior Deputy Collector from Bihar Administrative Service was arrested from his house on charges of raping his daughter.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said that the officials wife brought her daughter to the police to lodge the complaint. The girl said she picked up the courage to lodge the case against her father after gaining support of her mother.
The police said the medical examination of the girl suggested rape. But we are going for forensic examination to get conclusive report, said SSP Maharaj.
The Deputy Collector,however,denied the allegation of rape and instead accused his wife of harbouring ill-will against him over some family matter.
