Bilt Q2 net dips 68% at Rs 18.89 cr

The company had posted net profit of Rs 58.91 crore in the corresponding period.

Paper manufacturer Ballarpur Industries Ltd (Bilt) today said its consolidated profit after tax declined 67.93 per cent to Rs 18.89 crore for the second quarter ended December 31,over the same period last fiscal.

The company had posted net profit of Rs 58.91 crore in the corresponding period of 2010-11 fiscal,Bilt said in a filing to the BSE.

Net sales of the company rose to Rs 1,195.99 crore in the second quarter,compared to Rs 1,126.90 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

“The consolidated operating performance for the quarter was affected due to maintenance shut and commissioning of new pulp mill at Sabah Forest Industries Malaysia,” the company said.

Shares of Bilt today closed at Rs 24.40 on the BSE,down 1.21 per cent from its previous close.
