BJD leader shot at in Orissa,accused arrested

Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident had its genesis in an old rivalry between Parida and Panda.

A fortnight after a senior BJD leader was shot dead by miscreants,another BJD leader is battling for life after being shot at in Dhenkanal district Friday evening. Dhenkanal district president of BJD’s youth wing Yosabant Parida was seriously injured after he was shot at in Kamakshyanagar area of Dhenkanal,said SP Manoranjan Mohanty. Parida was sitting at his medicine store when one Suresh Panda allegedly opened fire at him. Parida,who received bullet injuries in his stomach and hand,was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Locals caught Panda and handed him over to the police. A revolver was seized from him. Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident had its genesis in an old rivalry between Parida and Panda.
