Mumbai: The rupee on Friday dropped to it lowest level in a year in the wake of the continued gain in US dollar against major currencies. The currency,after touching a low 46.59 ended the session at 46.565,the lowest level since September 8,2010.

Sensex dips 298 points; ends below 17,000
