JetLite flight suffers bird-hit PATNA: A JetLite flight,with 94 passengers and six crew members onboard from Mumbai to Patna suffered a bird hit,but landed safely at the airport on Wednesday,airline sources said. The flight S2721 took off from Ranchi airport at 8.35 am for Patna for its return journey to Mumbai. All passengers and crew members,including the two pilots,onboard the plane are safe. Actress arrested for prostitution bid BANGALORE: A 29-year-old actress has been taken into custody on the charge of attempted prostitution,police said. She had acted in two Kannada films and three serials. Her name was not provided. A 40-year-old woman,a pimp,who had acted in two teleserials,and two men were also taken into custody,police said. Three peacock carcasses found SANT KABIRNAGAR: Carcasses of three peacocks were found on a railway track,police said on Wednesday,adding that forest officials had been informed. It was suspected that they were being smuggled. Police also said that they bear no injury marks on their bodies. Man kills son over family dispute GUNA (MP): A man killed his son over a family dispute in full public view at Kala Peepal village police said on Wednesday. Madho Singh had approached the panchayat over a row between him and his son Kamlesh following which a meeting was called on Tuesday. According to police,Singh whipped out a country-made revolver and fired at his son as the meeting was in progress,police said. Singh was arrested following a complaint by one Balwan Bhil. Maoists hack off mans hands BERHAMPUR: Suspected Maoists hacked the hands of a man at Baroda in Baragada police station,the police said on Wednesday.
