New York-based punk hair stylist Staci Child,31,shows the middle finger in one shot as she tugs at a bra embossed with an Oz flag as she flaunts her tattooed body for Zoo Weekly. Child said her father Tim Mathieson,the boyfriend of Gillard,was impressed by the photographs.
Vatican library reopens after restoration
VATICAN CITY: The Vaticans Apostolic Library is reopening to scholars following a three-year renovation to install climate-controlled rooms for its manuscripts and state-of-the-art security measures. The library,started by Pope Nicholas V in the 1450s,houses one of the worlds best collections of illuminated manuscripts. It includes the oldest known complete Bible,believed to have been one of the 50 Bibles commissioned by Emperor Constantine,the first Christian Roman leader.
Five men on trial in Oz for plotting army attack
MELBOURNE: Five men went on trial before an Australian court on Monday,charged with planning an attack on a Sydney army base last year in retaliation for Australias involvement in the Afghan war,a prosecutor said. The men,all Australian citizens with Somali and Lebanese background,planned to shoot people in the suicide raid on the army base,prosecutor Nick Robinson said.
Mexican marines arrest drug kingpin
Mexico City: Mexican marines captured Sergio Villarreal Barragan,an alleged leader of the Beltran Leyva cartel and one of the countrys most-wanted fugitives,in a raid in Puebla,the government said. The alleged capo known as El Grande did not put up any resistance when he was arrested along with two accomplices as they left a residence in Puebla city.
