WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama has nominated Indian-American Arun Majumdar to a key administration post in the Department of Energy. An IIT-Mumbai alumni,Majumdar has been nominated as the US Under Secretary of Energy,the White House said Wednesday.

WASHINGTON: A 42-year-old Indian scientist has been charged with stealing secret recipes from a US drug company and turning them over to his brother-in-law back home. Prabhu Mohapatra worked for Frontier Scientific Inc that supplies chemicals for research.
Turkey slaps Syria with sanctions
BEIRUT: Turkey slapped tough economic sanctions on Syria Wednesday,freezing assets of some government officials over crackdown on an 8-month-old uprising,suspending ties with the nations central bank and banning all military sales. This is in addition to sanctions imposed by Arab League.
