BSE to launch mobile-based trading

The Bombay Stock Exchange is launching mobile-based trading from Tuesday through select few brokers,a senior Exchange official said.

“We will provide mobile-based trading from Tuesday.

The top 15 brokers of BSE will go live with mobile trading,” a senior BSE official said here.

The mobile trading service will be extended to all the investors through its 900 active brokers soon.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has already announced offering trading through mobile from early October.

Market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi),last month approved trading in shares through mobile phones,in an attempt to encourage wider participation of investors.

The step has the potential to increase stock market trading activity manifold because of the extent of mobile penetration in India.
