CBI bases arguments on cop testimony

Rajesh and Nupur Talwar are standing trial for the murder of their teenaged daughter Aarushi and domestic aide Hemraj.

The CBI’s final arguments in the Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj double murder case continued on Friday with the prosecution basing its arguments on the testimony of Noida police officer Dattaram Nauneria as well as the initial FIR filed by Rajesh Talwar.

Rajesh and Nupur Talwar are standing trial for the murder of their teenaged daughter Aarushi and domestic aide Hemraj on the intervening night of May 15-16,2008.

In a session that lasted around 15 minutes,CBI prosecutor D K Singh told the court of ASJ Shyam Lal,“The language used in the FIR is in the past tense with regard to Hemraj. This raises suspicion that the accused already knew he was dead at the time.”

Basing his next argument on the testimony of Dattaram Nauneria,Singh said,“When Hemraj’s body was discovered on the terrace,Rajesh was hesitant, and did not identify him. His body was identified later by two others.”
