CBI questions Ramadoss’s former aide

Officers from the CBI searched the house of a former aide of former Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss here on Monday following allegations of irregularities in granting recognition to a private medical college in Madhya Pradesh.

Officers from the CBI searched the house of a former aide of former Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss here on Monday following allegations of irregularities in granting recognition to a private medical college in Madhya Pradesh.

The CBI said they questioned the former OSD and recorded his statement. He may again be called for questioning.

D S Moorthy,65,a retired IB official,was the officer on special duty (OSD) for Anbumani when he was a minister in UPA government in its first term.

Receiving complaints of irregularities over granting Medical Council of India (MCI) recognition to Index Medical College in Indore,Madhya Pradesh,the CBI had registered a case in Delhi and obtained a search warrant.

However,as Moorthy was away in the US,the house was locked and sealed about a month ago. On Monday,the anti-corruption wing officials searched the premises after Moorthy returned from his visit abroad.
