The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday recorded the statement of former Uttar Pradesh health minister Anant Kumar Mishra in connection with the CMOs murder cases and the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam in the state.

The CBI claimed that Mishra and Babu Singh Kushwaha,former family welfare minister who was questioned on Tuesday,have provided key information into the murders of two CMOs V K Arya and B P Singh and a deputy CMO while denying their role.

The agency,however,said details of the questioning cannot be revealed as probe was still on. Sources claimed Mishra was grilled for nearly five hours.

He was asked about the funds allocated under the NRHM scheme to Lucknow district and also on developments that have surfaced during the probe in the murders of Arya and Singh.

CBI interrogates MLCs wife

Lucknow: The CBI on Wednesday interrogated BSP MLC and UP Cooperative Federation chairman Ram Chandra Pradhans wife Anita in connection with the irregularities detected in her firms supplies of building material and labourers under NRHM in Lucknow between January 2010 and 2011.

Anita,who is chairperson of Rajdhani Sahkari Bank Ltd,is learnt to have said that she was not aware about the details related to the NRHM contract which was handled by her husbands acquaintance Rizwan Agha.

According to the source in CBI, 30 invoices related to the supply work did not carry her signatures.
