For the second consecutive day,the CBI examined Lt Gen Tejinder Singh (retd) and Vectra chairman Ravinder Rishi in connection with the alleged bribe offer made to former Army chief V K Singh. Tejinder,however,denied he was questioned on Tuesday. I have not been called by the CBI today. Investigations will reveal that I am not involved and also the reasons for someone raking it up one-and-a-half years after the alleged incident, he said in an SMS reply. But the CBI maintained that both Tejinder and Rishi were questioned after they detected infirmities in their statements recorded on Monday. During questioning,both denied having any kind of links with each other. The sources said the two Delhi-based businessmen and two Vectra executives were also questioned on the case. They were asked about their links with Defence Ministry officials. V K Singh had alleged that Tejinder had offered him a bribe of Rs 14 crore in his office in September 2010 to clear the purchase of a tranche of 1,676 sub-standard Tatra BEML trucks. He reported it to Defence Minister A K Antony. After getting a formal complaint,CBI had initiated a preliminary enquiry in April. Tejinder had refuted the allegations and slapped a defamation case against V K Singh.
