Chained melody

Kate moss made gold chains look chic and now celebrities all over are taking it a step further. Several strands of dainty gold chains looked smashing on Mary Kate Olsen who wore it recently with a minimalist black outfit and a simple fur coat. But when our very own Koena Mitra tried the same look,she got it all wrong by teaming the gold chain with too much body glitter and a shimmering outfit. “Always make sure to wear a minimalist outfit with a gold chain,especially if the chain is chunky. Too much bling looks obscene,” says designer Rina Dhaka.

A chunky gold chain can also be worn as a belt. “For a formal look,gold belts look sultry and elegant on well fitted black clothes,whether a little black dress or a fitted black top with a pair of slim fit pants of the same colour,” says Dhaka. A gold chain can also be worn with a casual outfit —jeans with a chic plain top to help dress up the look.
