Gandaman school principal, facing criminal cases for the death of 23 school children in July,on Thursday underwent a polygraph test at Chhapra. The test would conclude on Friday.
Bihar DGP Abhayanand confirmed that school principal Meena Devi, taken in three day police remand from today,is undergoing a polygraph test conducted by a team from Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory. The length of the test depends on the questionnaire, he said.
Devi, the main accused who pleaded innocence, had to undergo the test after a Special Investigation Team got permission from a local court. Her husband,Arjun Yadav, whose custodial interrogation is permitted by the court,is absconding. Yadav, however,is not an accused in the case.
Sources said Devi told interrogators she had no knowledge of pesticide making way to the midday meal served on July 16. Police investigation suggested organophosphorous that was traced to Meena Devis house. The only thing to establish is if mixing of pesticide with mustard oil was intentional or not, said a source.
