China shares end up 0.7 pct

China's main stock index closed up 0.7 pct on Friday supported by selective buying.

China’s main stock index closed up 0.7 per cent on Friday supported by selective buying of metal and steel companies,keeping the index above the key 3,000-point level.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended at 3,030.0 points,its highest level since Nov. 1 1 and following a 0.2 per cent rise on Thursday. It rose 2.1 per cent for the week.
