The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Monday was provided with a list of files and documents reportedly traced by the Coal Ministry and which were among the 150 demanded by the agency for its probe into the coal block allocation scam. The Supreme Court had set September 17 as the deadline to trace the missing files. Agency sources said they are yet to receive all documents and will examine the status of the ministry report sent to them on Monday. We believe there are still many documents missing. After examining the status report,we will inform the SC and act accordingly, said a senior CBI official. Sources said the fresh list came late on Monday evening and scrutiny has begun. Nearly 150 files and documents were to be received by the CBI. Earlier in the day,a ministry official said a report, along with documents and files, was despatched to CBI. Asked about details of the report the ministry has sent to the CBI,the official declined to disclose the contents, citing confidentiality. The Supreme Court had last month directed the CBI to give it a list of documents and information sought by it within five days to the Coal Ministry which,in turn, was to furnish them within two weeks.
