FMCG firm Colgate-Palmolive said its board has declared its first interim dividend for the fiscal at Rs 8 per share of Re 1 each,aggregating to total outgo of Rs 126.4 crore. "The dividend payout to the shareholders will be Rs 108.8 crore (Rs 126.4 crore inclusive of the dividend distribution tax)," Colgate-Palmolive said in a statement. The company said the dividend will be paid on June 24,2011 to the shareholders whose names are on the Register of Members of the company as on June 14,2011. For the year-ended March 31,Colgate-Palmolive had declared a total dividend of Rs 22 per share. The company's total revenue last fiscal stood at Rs 2,296 crore. It posted a profit of Rs 402.5 crore during the period. The FMCG major sells a range of products that include toothpastes,toothpowder,toothbrushes and mouthwash under the brand Colgate. It also sells a specialised range of dental therapies under the banner of Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals. Shares of Colgate-Palmolive closed at Rs 914.35 on the Bombay Stock Exchange,up 0.20 per cent from the previous close.
