The BJP on Tuesday hit out at the Congress for transferring an IAS officer in Haryana,Ashok Khemka, allegedly for ordering a probe into a land deal of Robert Vadra,son-in-law of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. It termed the move as a reflection of the ruling partys Emergency mindset to send a message that anyone who questions the first family of the party will not be spared.
We condemn the shunting out of the official within hours after he initiated a probe into the land dealings of Vadra …. The Haryana government is not taking the probe further as ordered by the official, but is probing the conduct of the officer instead. The message is clear that one those who question the dynasty will not be spared, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
We want the matter to be probed as there are charges of a quid pro quo and of undue benefits. Had it been a private deal,we would not have made this demand, Javadekar reasoned.
Javadekars clarification underlying the criteria of quid pro quo and undue benefits for demanding a probe into the deals of Vadra, whom the Congress has described as a private individual, holds significance in the wake of speculations that activist Arvind Kejriwal will target BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday.
BJP leaders confided that they were keeping their fingers crossed on the next target of Kejriwal fearing that any substantial revelation may hit partys campaign against the Congress.
Hooda should explain Khemkas transfer: Kejriwal
India Against Corruption on Tuesday alleged that IAS officer Ashok Khemka of Haryanas land registration department was transferred by the state government because he had initiated a probe into the land deals of Robert Vadra,son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Activist Arvind Kejriwal said,Ashok Khemka (was) transferred by the Haryana government because he was probing into Vadras land deals. We strongly criticise that.
What is (the) transfer policy for IAS officers in Haryana? Under that policy, can an officer be transferred merely because he was investigating Vadra? Haryana Chief Minister ought to answer why Ashok Khemka was transferred? Kejriwal tweeted.
