Cong protest ahead,BSP MLAs kin finally held for officials murder

The police on Sunday arrested Yashbhadra Singh alias Monu, brother of BSP MLA Chandrabhadra Singh

The police on Sunday arrested Yashbhadra Singh alias Monu, brother of BSP MLA Chandrabhadra Singh alias Sonu,in connection with the kidnapping and murder of UP revenue inspector Ram Kumar Yadav 13 days after the crime.

The arrest came hours before the Congress organised a protest against the police failure to arrest the MLA and his brother.

Yadav was killed allegedly by the MLA,his brother and their men just because his wife Kamla Devi dared to contest the Majhwara village pradhans post in Sultanpur district against a candidate sponsored by them in the recent panchayat elections.

Although the MLA,who represents Isauli constituency in the Assembly,is named in the FIR,he is still at large. Investigation is on. I cant say more, said Faizabad SSP R K S Rathore, when asked what action was being taken against the MLA.

Yashbhadra Singh is president of the Dhanpatganj block development committee. Both brothers are known history-sheeters,with a long criminal record.

Station officer of Bikapur Jaishankar Prasad said Yashbhadra Singh was arrested near Chauri-Chandauli village on the Faizabad-Sultanpur highway. He was produced in court which sent him to jail.

The Congress march from Majhwara to Sultanpur to protest the police failure to arrest the MLA and his brother announced a few days ago was led by state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi.

The SSP said two of the arrested men,Ram Surat Yadav and Tillu, were not named in the FIR. The police had also recovered the vehicle used in the crime,SSP Rathore said.

Yadav was killed, allegedly for his refusal to dissuade Kamla Devi from contesting against the wife of an employee at a college run by the MLA and his brother. Yadav was kidnapped on October 25 while he was returning home from his office in Faizabad. The next morning, his mutilated body was found in Sultanpur district.
