Copper,nickel rise on pick-up in industrial demand

Prices of copper and nickel rose by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market.

Prices of copper and nickel rose by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market,on the back of increased industrial demand and reports of a firming trend in overseas markets.

Traders said apart from pick up in industrial demand,reports of a firming trend in overseas market,mainly pushed up prices of copper and nickel.

In the national capital,copper wire scrap,copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap recovered by Rs 2 each to Rs 527,Rs 550 and Rs 512,while nickel (4×4) followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,080-1,082 per kg,respectively.
