The Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) index remained firm and gained sharply during the trading week.
CSE-40 gained 259.12 points during the week as compared to a fall of 151.90 points in the previous week.
The index opened at 5360.59 and in the trading session the index stayed firm and finally ended at 5619.71.
Blueprint Securities was Rs 307. IT major,Infosys Technologies lost ground,down to end the week at Rs 2692.50.
Reliance Industries gained during the week and finally closed at Rs 811.65 at end of the week. State Bank of India rose from Rs 1725.35 to Rs 1883.10 during the week under review.
