Devvarman a/c hacked for doughnuts

14 illegal transactions in two days totalled $287.80 items bought from a dollar store.

Indias top ranked singles star Somdev Devvarman was in for a shock as he settled into his Paris apartment before the French Open that starts next week.

Devvarman,whose career earnings as a tennis professional happens to be $5,59,774,panicked when he realised his online bank account had been hacked. But then he discovered that the 14 illegal transactions amounted to $286.87 and the 26-year-old heaved a sigh of relief.

After informing the bank about the hacking,Devvarman checked the details of the transactions and it confirmed that the hackers werent quite big spenders. They had used my account to buy eatables and drinks from New York, he said.

Later,he was to tweet: Ok this is serious but I think its also funny… my bank account was hacked into. 14 transactions in the last 2 days and $286.87, however all from nyc. most from dunkin doughnuts,subway and a deli.

According to Devvarman,the funniest part of the shopping spree was the $80 the hacker spent at a dollar store. He bought 80 different things there, he said. Another tweet said: Also 30 bucks from a liquor store was purchased… glad he enjoyed that part!
