Dhanush starrer Uthamapuththiran,directed by Mithran.K. Jawahar,is ready. A remake of the Telugu blockbuster Ready,the film has Genelia as the heroine. She also starred in the Telugu original,opposite Ram. Uthamapuththiran was the title of the 1958 movie that has Sivaji Ganesan in the lead role. A full-fledged entertainer with K.Bhagyaraj,Vivek,Karunas and R. Sundarrajan playing key roles,Uthamapuththiran is likely to hit screens during Diwali. The film has script by Gopi Mohan and music by Vijay Antony. Director Mithran.K.Jawahar and Dhanush had earlier teamed up to deliver Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Kutty,both of which too were remakes of Telugu films. Anushka busy in Tamil With the Suriya starrer Singam,directed by Hari,hitting the bulls-eye,its the heroine Anushka who seems to have benefitted the most. Anushka Shetty,who is busy in Telugu and who has lots of ardent fans after Arundhati,is getting lots of exciting offers in Tamil as well. Its Anushka who stars opposite Simbu in the forthcoming Vaanam,which is a remake of the Telugu hit Vedham. Simbu had recently expressed her admiration for the actress,whose performance in Arundhati had made him an ardent fan of hers. Anushka is also to be paired with Vikram in his next film,to be directed by Vijay,the director of Poi Solla Porom (the remake of Khosla Ka Ghosla) and the recent hit Madrasapattanam. Mukesh to play a communist leader Mukesh is all set to play a communist leader in a forthcoming film Priyapetta Naattukare. Mukesh is ever active also hosting successful shows on television (he is at present Deal Or No Deal) he plays a communist leader for the first time in Priyapetta Naattukare,to be directed by debutant Sreejith Palery. The film will be produced under the banner of Grammy Entertainments and will be scripted by debutant T.K.Santhosh. Tejaswini Kolhapure in Lathi Tejaswini Kolhapure was last seen in a cameo role in Mani Ratnam's Raavan after making her Bollywood debut in Anurag Kashyap's Paanch. She is now entering Marathi films with Lathi which is being made under her elder sister actress Padmini Kolhapures banner. The film is being directed by National award- winning director Sanjay Surkar. Tejaswini is looking forward to working with the maker of films like Saatchya Aat Gharaat,Saheli and Gharaa Baher. In Lathi,which is a family drama set in the 80s,she is playing Sachin Khedekar's wife. The film is set for release next year.
