The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Friday said its report on the Bhatta-Parsaul incident was not ready. The statement came amid reports that a team of the rights body had ruled out rape in the two Greater Noida villages during the farmers stir recently.
In a statement, the NHRC said the investigation teams report on the police firing in the villages in May was not ready and it had not been submitted to Chairperson Justice K G Balakrishnan.
The report… has not been received by the Chairperson or the Commission as it is still not ready. After finalisation, first the report will be placed before the Full Commission for consideration and any further proceeding in the matter which may be brought in public domain, the statement said.
The statement also said the teams report on the alleged rape and murder of a girl in a police station premises in Lakhimpur Kheri,Uttar Pradesh, was also still in the process of finalisation.
The reports suggested that the NHRC team ruled out rape of women by policemen in the two villages, debunking a claim by Rahul Gandhi. The Central government has cast doubts over the veracity of the content of the report.
Similarly,it came out to deny reports which talked about an incident of alleged rape and killing of a minor girl in Lakhimpur-Kheri district.
