Aditi Ranjit Jagtap (22) who was arrested for rash and negligent driving of her Mercedes Benz was released on bail by a magisterial court

Aditi Ranjit Jagtap (22) who was arrested on Tuesday for rash and negligent driving of her Mercedes Benz was released on bail by a magisterial court here on Wednesday.

Her lawyer Girish Kulkarni argued before the court that she has been arrested for a bailable offence. He also argued that she was a permanent resident of Pune and would cooperate in the investigation. On the other hand, additional public prosecutor Rajani Naik opposed the bail application stating that it was a serious offence and if bail has to be granted,it must be only against heavy surety amount.

After hearing both sides, the court granted bail to Jagtap under personal bond and solvent surety amount of Rs 15,000. Her father and well known cardiac surgeon Dr Ranjit Jagtap bailed her out. The court released her under the condition to attend the police station whenever called.
