Union Minister M K Alagiri is yearning to return to Tamil Nadu and concentrate on state politics. He does not like Delhi politics,he has conceded in an interview with NDTV.

“I love the people of Tamil Nadu very much, and that is why I want to be part of Tamil Nadu politics,” M Karunanidhi’s son said. He was, however, noncommittal if he would actually return to the state in case the DMK wins, saying the decision would be taken after the polls.

Karunanidhi’s other son,MK Stalin,is Deputy Chief Minister but Alagiri skirted questions about succession. Asked how he would take it if Karunanidhi should step down and Stalin should take over,Alagiri insisted that his father would be Chief Minister for the present and the future. “He will become Chief Minister for the sixth time and even for the seventh time.” Asked if he would ever like to be Chief Minister,he said he has never run after any kind of position.
