An 18-year-old Dutch student was allegedly abducted and raped by an auto-rickshaw driver and his accomplice at a secluded spot in Goregaon (East) on Monday.
We have eyewitnesses who have seen the accused. Based on their description,we have prepared sketches and are tracing them. We have spoken to the local rickshaw drivers and are seeking their help, said Ramrao Pawar,ACP (North Region).
In her statement,the victim said she came to the city about a fortnight back. On Christmas night,she had gone to a friends house in Vasai. At about 1 am on Monday,the victim,accompanied by a male friend,took an auto-rickshaw to Mulund.
The victim told the police that after her friend got off,the driver allowed another man to sit beside him. The auto-rickshaw then headed for a secluded spot behind Vanrai police station where she was raped. Her purse,cellphone and passport were also stolen,she said.
