Electricity tariff hiked in Bihar

The decision was taken on BSEB’s petition for approval of Aggregate Revenue Requirement and revision of tariff for the year 2012-13,he said.

Panjiar said while no hike was effected for the Kutir Jyoti,agriculture and rural consumers,a marginal increase was made in the tariff of urban and commercial consumers.

The BERC has approved a revenue gap of Rs 841.17 crore out of which Rs 683.90 crore would be met through state government subsidy and the rest would be left as regulatory assets to be covered through mobilization of resources through further increase of tariff or other sources,he said.

The BERC accepted a proposal of the BSEB to give new connection under Tatkal scheme on double rate of application fee and service connection charges,Panjiar said.
