EU team calls off Geelani meet

Hardline Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s recent espousal of Osama bin Laden has upset the European Union. Diplomats from EU,who are on visit to the state,steered clear of Geelani after scheduling an appointment on Saturday. Hardline Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akber said the diplomats apparently baulked at the meeting following Geelani’s condemnation of Osama’s killing.

Even though foreign teams have long been avoiding Geelani because of his anti-west approach,this time the EU team had scheduled a meeting with the hawk.
