Ford India April sales down 2.5 pct

Ford India reported 2.5 per cent decline in sales in April at 7,319 units.

It had posted sales of 7,509 units in the same month last year.

The company sold a total of 42,395 units in the January to April 2011 period,a growth of 83 per cent from 23,115 units posted in the same period a year ago,Ford India said in a statement.

“The year so far has been encouraging as evident from our year-to-date sales of over 40,000 units,including exports,from Jan-April 2011,” Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said.

He added the company was encouraged to see its all-new global Fiesta receive a great response during its unveiling recently.
