Right from the start, the story goes nowhere. We have seen the tale of a husband who wants to get his rich wife killed umpteen times. But this could have been told in a better way. Abhijit Deshmukh (Ashok Shinde) is a businessman who is having an affair with Mona (Yogita Dandekar),his personal secretary. She suggests that they get rid of his wife Sonal (Reena Jadhav),who has a major stake in their company. Abhijit gets in touch with a computer hacker Rocky (Siddhu) and convinces him to kill Sonal. Then he hires a contract killer to finish Rocky. On the day of the murder,Abhijit and Mona plan to leave for Bengaluru on an official trip. But they do not reach the airport on time and thus miss the flight. Abhijit reaches home to find Sonal being chased by the killer and she lands in his arms while he shoots the assassin only to find that it is not Rocky. In fact, its the contract killer who he had hired to kill Rocky.
It is strange that not one performance in the film can be called as close to decent. Siddhu, who plays Rocky, tries to look like a hero-cum- assassin but his long hair, body language and clothes combined with his expressions that do not convey anything, does not stand a chance. It is obvious that the film was made by his family to launch him in films.
The editing is choppy but it could be a deliberate attempt to give the movie a feel of a suspense thriller. However,it doesnt work and gets on ones nerves. The entire film has the outdated look of the 70s when picture quality was not considered that important. Even the locations do not help. The camera spans on a huge white bungalow, supposedly Abhijits residence, umpteen times and practically after every scene the camera shifts upward,on either a rocky hill or on the wall or the sky. The choreography of the sexy song Kalnar kadhi preet maazhi tula is crude to the hilt. The only saving-grace of the film could be Vijay Chauhan who plays an inspector who is always cracking jokes. But otherwise there is no gammat at all in the film. Watch it at your own risk.
RATING: *
One star for the makers for daring to make this film.
