Shares in personal care products maker Godrej Consumer Products rose over 3 percent in opening trades after a newspaper reported the company and U.S.-candy maker Hershey’s have called off their joint venture,two dealers said. Hershey’s will sell its 51 percent stake to Godrej Consumer for an undisclosed amount,the report said.
Following this,the godrej group may choose to enter chocolates category,it added. At 9:58 a.m.,the stock was at 448.65 rupees,up 2.41 percent.
